Film Festivals

With the number of film festivals it is obvious that the Independent Film industry is on the rise. Sonoma County, located less than 30 miles north of San Francisco, provides a natural presence with a choice of different climates and locations for production. Boasting more than 200 of the world’s most award-winning wineries, 58 miles of scenic Pacific Ocean coastline, rolling mountains, redwood forests, and the majestic Russian River, Sonoma County is an ideal location for the independent filmmaker.

Sonoma County’s diverse landscape, coupled with our reputation for hospitality, allows the filmmaker to complete any and all aspects of their independent film. The Independent Film industry is growing fast in Sonoma County and we invite you to become a part of it.

If you are an independent film artist or an appreciator of independent filming and have any questions, feel free to contact the film office at: film@sonoma-county.org
