The following GIS datasets are available for download, subject to the Terms and Conditions of Use outlined below. The geographical data accessed through this web page is provided as a public service and is accessed at the user’s own risk. Therefore, the download and use of PRMD GIS datasets indicates your unconditional acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of Use.

Downloading GIS Data Files

To download a data file to a local computer, right-click on the data link and select "Save Target As..." from the pop-up window. On the computer, select a folder to store the data and click "Save" to download the file. When the download is complete, right-click on the saved data file and select " Extract All..." from the pop-up window. Follow the Extraction Wizard steps and use the data file in an applicable application(s).

 

Vector Data

The PRMD GIS vector datasets are in State Plane California II Zone, Feet (NAD83) projection and can be downloaded in ESRI shapefile format, SHP or as a compressed KML file, KMZ. The shapefiles downloaded from this page may be viewed using ArcGIS Explorer (a free application from ESRI). The KMZs downloaded from this page can be viewed in ArcGIS Explorer or Google Earth (a free application from Google). Note: Please ensure Google Earth is running in "Normal Mode." To set Normal Mode, within Google Earth select Tools > Options > 3D View > Graphics Mode > disable Safe Mode checkbox and restart Google Earth.

 

Where applicable, the dataset has been made available to view as a report.  To view the report, select the report Report link and the report will open in PDF format.

 

Please note, PRMD GIS staff does not provide support or assistance in the use of these files beyond the information contained in the metadata files.

WARNING: The ActiveMap parcel base is a vector dataset maintained by PRMD GIS and is not representative of Sonoma County GIS Central parcels vector dataset. All PRMD GIS datasets should be overlaid with ActiveMap Parcels.

Tabular Data Description MDB DBF
Zoning Database The zoning database represents PRMD’s Official Zoning Database (OZD) in digital form as adopted by the Board of Supervisors on June 12, 2007. The Microsoft Access database consists of a single table which represents the base zoning and combining district (a.k.a. overlay) per parcel in unincorporated Sonoma County. This dataset is updated on a quarterly basis.
